Sascha Reuss

I started, like many other divers on vacation.

In 2000, I was 15 years old and visiting the Dominican Republic. I was always fascinated with the underwater world and I had the chance to discover it. Since then I was a typical holiday-diver.

In 2012 I was in Hurghada (Egypt), where I saw a Poseidon MK VI rebreather and had the chance to dive it there. It was at this point that it was knew I would like to have a rebreather. I was amazed by the absolute silence of diving on the Rebreather, and with the opportunity to get even closer to the underwater sea life made this a whole new experience for me.

In 2013, I decided to become a dive instructor in order to bring other people closer to the underwater world. This year I also started Open Circuit technical diving. My goal was to fint the Kreidesee Hemmoor, which is still to be discovered at the bottom of the lake.

In early 2014 I completed my training on the Poseidon Se7en. At this time, rebreather diving became my true passion, and preferred way to dive. Since then, I have begun to test different rebreathers and to train on them to get to know them. These rebreathers include the Tiburon, Megalodon, Pathfinder, X-CCR, Flex 2, T-Reb, JJ-CCR, Triton, AP Vision, SF2, Kiss Sidewibder, Kiss Sidekick, Shark and Lungfish. There I have found, every rebreather has its own strengths, and it always depends on the situation where each is used.

Except for training Open Circuit Technical Divers, I exclusively dive rebreathers.
